The house made our vacation!
Posted on: 3/19/2015
This house really added a great deal to our vacation, and was everything we hoped it would be. Before arriving, we were a little concerned about security / safety, given what we had read in various places about CR, but at no time did we ever feel that security was an issue while staying in this house - nor anywhere in the immediate area. The house is situated in a small cul-de-sac with three other houses, one of which is the sister house to Paraisito. It has all the necessary security measures in place (bars on windows, door), which seems to be the norm in CR. The house is as described on this site with all amenities. The outdoor shower is particularly useful, as is the little clothes line. We especially liked the verandah where we spent a lot of time during the day when it was too hot to venture too far afield. It would be good to have some sort of seating arrangement on the verandah though - we worked something out but to have some designated seating would be good. The area is nice: a 5 minute walk to Playa Pelada, which even at its busiest is still pretty deserted! Playa Guiones can be reached in about 30 minutes (along the beach). It's a pleasant walk, although remember that if you do it during the hot season it will be hot! We walked into Playa Guiones a few times to pick up some groceries, although there is no 'big' grocery store there, but we found enough to make snacks and breakfast. We didn't hire a car and managed to get around on foot, although we never ventured further than Playa Guiones. The restaurants are good: El Chivo a big favourite of mine (delicious chorizo quesadillas!). Olga's is nice too. La Luna is also good, although I wonder if the setting is more satisfying than the actual food... Afternoon gelato at Seekretspot - also very good! Virginie was very helpful all throughout the process, and kindly arranged a taxi to collect us from the airport and take us back at the end of our vacation. All in all, we had a great stay in Paraisito. We couldn't have had the holiday we had in a hotel or all-inclusive. The house suited us perfectly and we would book again if we ever returned. Thank you.

GREAT Place... BEAUTIFUL Town
Posted on: 12/12/2014
This house was PERFECT for our group of four adults, and could have comfortably lodged two more. The house is located in Playa Pelada, the more quiet of the two beach areas of Nosara. Playa Pelada does not have a consistent surf break, meaning that a 20 min walk south will be required if you wish to surf (easy with a shortboard, a bit tougher with a longboard). The house was immaculate! Plenty of towels, dishes, and cookware... we were even pleasantly surprised to find that the place had a COOLER (there are few things better than a couple of ice-cold Imperials and a Costa Rican sunset). We WILL be staying here again, without a doubt. Recommendations... Buy your groceries in the town of Nosara itself, rather than in Playa Pelada or Guiones- the prices are SIGNIFICANTLY lower. Many locals speak English, but this is a great place to bone-up on your Spanish. EAT AT PANCHOS... order the Guacamole... you can thank me later La Luna is perhaps one of the most romantic and delicious restaurants in town... great setting for a little one on one

Great house and a great value...short walk to Playa Pelada which is an awesome private beach. Home had everything you need to vacation as if you lived there and was very clean. Short drive to a great grocery store for all your supplies. Can't say enough about the prop managers agnes and Joe...they are very cool, friendly people...on top of all your needs...We would highly recommend Greenfish to anyone coming to the Nosara area in the near future...Thanks Rob

Relaxing and beautiful
Posted on: 11/10/2014
Four sun-seeking Canadians in search of warmth and relaxation spent four wonderful weeks in Costa Rica in January/February of 2012, most of it at Green Fish in Nosara. The house was perfect for our needs. It was clean and welcoming and the once a week housekeeping was all that we needed. We walked the beaches every day, Guiones was a favorite destination. A beverage and relaxing swim at the Tucan Restaurant was well worth the walk; a little bit further and fresh bread and pastries were available at the bakery. We shopped in Nosara for groceries and cooked most meals at the house (perfect), however we enjoyed pizza at nearby Pepperoni's Pizza and other occasional meals out. The guys went deep sea fishing twice and brought us back the catch so fresh tuna was on the menu. Fresh lobster bought from local fisherman was a superb meal. Sunset watching on the beach each night became a ritual and was a friendly get together of locals and tourists. We had a wonderful time. The Nosara area is off the beaten bath, so this home and area is not for partiers but it was perfect for us and the kind of vacation we wanted. A car or quad is needed to get to the supermarket at Nosara, and the road is dusty but the store is well equipped with all essentials. As summer is short in Canada, we Canadians like to spend as much time out of doors as possible, so the only suggestion for the house would be some lawn chairs or the like for the deck. Agnes from Villa Mango (property manager) was efficient and helpful with our check-in and check-out and with any questions or problems (none to mention). We would definitely recommend this house to vacationers such as us -- those who want beach walks, ocean swims, lovely sunsets, beautiful surroundings and quiet times. Great vacation!

My husband and I stayed at Green Fish from March 21st to March 26th. We were picked up at the local car rental agency by Agnes, the property manager as we were returning our car and would not have had transportation to the house. Green Fish was spotless, charming , comfortable and provided a very relaxing few days. The house is not beachfront but is an easy 5 minute walk to the nearest beach, Playa Pelada. The beaches in the area were big, beautiful and rugged. We found tidal pools throughout the day to relax in. The beach at Playa Giones, a 25 minute walk was great for surfing and boogie boarding. At high tide the ocean in this area can be intimidating. Playa Giones is the nearest town to Green Fish. All in all, Green Fish provided us with a very relaxing, tranquilo experience. Of note, we highly recommend having a car during your stay at Green Fish due to the spreadout nature of Nosara area. Also, AC is crucial so when booking pay the extra money.

"Green fish" is a well maintained and well equiped vacation home. Enough beach towels, convenient use of washer/ dryer, and a complete kitchen. We found ourselves dining in most of the time and enjoying smoothies made with the available blender and the fresh fruit from the local super market. The house is only a 5 minutes walk away from the most prestine and quiet beach we have ever seen. We were practically alone, enjoying the water, sunset and long strolls along the water line. For swimming a beach located about 15 minutes walk from the house is recommended. Outdoor activities are close by. The zip line experience is highly recommended. Very safe, great guides and spectacular views. If at all our stay could have been better, the only thing that comes to mind would be the availability of beachtoys/ a ball, boogie boards for the children to use. Other then that, a great place to enjoy a family vacation.

Green Fish is a gorgeous home in a good location of Nosara. We enjoyed every bit of our 5 day vacation. Agnus was terrific. The community has a fun blend of expats and Ticos. The beaches were amazing, especially between 8 and 11 and after 4 just because the sun is too brutal in the middle of the day, leaving time for road trips in the air conditioned car or enjoying a swimming pool at a nearby hotel. The experience was contradictory, being in such a gorgeous, quality house in such an undeveloped and non-corporate community. We are so glad we chose Nosara and Green Fish.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. We arrived during the very dry hot season. The Property's manager and owner handled everything for us prior to arrival. All our questions were answered, all needs satisfied. Our taxi was ordered for us from the airport, the driver arrived on time in an airconditioned vehicle. We also asked to stop at a supermarket on the way, which the driver did. The property's manager met us on arrival and showed us around the house. Ac worked, Wi-Fi worked, TV worked, Fridge worked - everything was as comfortable as in your own home. The location was nice, just a five minute walk from the beach, and 5 minutes to several restaurants. The only thing to note is that depending on the season, some places are closed. Most of the restaurants around us were closed for the season. But its ok, we managed with the three that were opened within walking distance.

Great stay!!!

It was a comfortable home. Perfect for our family. It was a 2 minute walk to the beach, which was beautiful and secluded. The outdoor shower was convenient to rinse off the sand. The air conditioning option helped to cool us down. Property manager and owners were very helpful and pleasant to deal with in setting up our trip and during our stay in Nosara. It was home away from home!

A Beautiful Get away!

We loved our time in Nosara! Green Fish was absolutely lovely! It was truly our home away from home. The house was beautiful and a close 4 minute walk to the gorgeous beach of Playa Pelada. Judith (the owner) was fantastic with helping us with all of the logistics while getting ready to visit Costa Rica since we had never been here before. Agnes (the property manager) was also always available and friendly for any questions we had before and during our visit to Nosara. I would highly recommend Green Fish if you are ever planning to visit Nosara Costa Rica! It was truly a beautiful experience. We will never forget it! We look forward to coming back someday very soon!

Judith, the owner, was very accessible from the start. She sent information that was helpful when planning our trip and kindly fielded many questions. When the six of us (2 parents & 4 teenagers) arrived, the property managers, Agnes and Jo, continued to extend excellent hospitality and customer service - from arranging transportation to having antibiotics delivered when one of the children succumbed to the sickness that had made its rounds. The house, Green Fish, was very clean, well-appointed, and situated within easy walking distance to the beach and restaurants. In fact, we slowed the pace (and saved money) by not renting a car and using our feet (and occasionally our thumbs) to get around. If you go in the summer, you won't regret paying for the air conditioning. Nosara was a perfect destination for rest and relaxation. There was enough to do (stand up paddle boarding, ziplining, horseback riding, atv tours, surfing, yoga) that we didn't get restless during our 2-week stay, but the area was not over touristy. We found the locals very friendly and the beaches beautiful. We went during the rainy season; it was usually sunny the first part of the day and often rained late afternoon and throughout the night. We were amazed at how long we were capable of sleeping by the end. We returned home refreshed having enjoyed the very definition of a delightful vacation.

We spent almost a month at Green Fish and enjoyed every minute. The house was exactly as the pictures portrayed. It had all that we needed, including a convenient washer machine and dryer and a nice outdoor shower. It took about 5 minutes to walk to a gorgeous Playa Pelada... for a swim or for sunset. Restaurants were close by and good... Olga's became a hangout where Manual welcomed us warmly and Pablo, the pottery man, became a friend. Our last night we had dinner at LaLuna and had a front seat to the most incredible sunset. When we left CT in late Feb it was exactly 1 degree F, snow, ice, clouds. When we arrived at Green Fish we were greeted by warm breezes, absolutely blue, blue skies, no clouds, and days that were relaxing, peaceful, interesting and fun. Many thanks to agnes and Jo for their hospitality and a wonderful breakfast at Villa Mango. They promptly answered our many questions and were always there for us. Nosara was a great experience!
