You will also be within a short walk from the mouth of the river Nosara, with its great sunsets, amazing bird watching, river tour, horse stable, and the Biological Reserve of Nosara. Beautifully designed, the house has all you need for a relaxing vacation away from the crowds: pool, a/c, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen and a great patio with plenty of comfortable pillows to truly enjoy the outdoors!
The three bedrooms are not linked to each other through hallways inside. You will have to step outside to get to any bedroom or kitchen. The Forest room is located up a spiral staircase and has a king bed, a/c and private bathroom. At the pool level, the Ocean bedroom has a queen bed, a/c and private bathroom. At the covered patio level is the Mango bedroom with two twin beds, a/c and private bathroom.
The kitchen is a separate building, linked to the bedroom by a covered patio that is the outdoor living room. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a laundry room to the side.
The house is secured by alarm monitored by phone to a security service, bars on all windows and doors and a safe for your laptop and valuables.
We loved Dos Corazones. We traveled in a group of 6 so there was plenty of space & bathrooms for all. Living in the jungle for almost a week was amazing but I did feel a little spoiled in the luxurious home. The pool was such a nice thing to return to after a sweaty hike through the jungle from the beach. Pelada was gorgeous & very deserted. A very easy walk to Guiones. For our group of 20 something travelers, this was perfect. We found time to zipline with the guys at Miss Sky (do it!) and stand-up paddle with Experience Nosara. A lot of really fun excursions and experiences right down the road at the mouth of the river. A rental car is a must but totally worth the extra $$. Be prepared for bugs of all kinds. They didnt bother us, but they were very present! The aC in the house was not %100 necessary but a great perk. Agnes & Jo are such friendly people & always there to answer any questions or help with any issues in the house. We all felt very safe & secure with the locks & security system. We will be returning again in 2012 & I can't wait!
We stayed at Dos Corazones for a month (a week at the end of June and first three weeks of July). Great location, in between the village of Noasara and Guiones and very close to Playa Pelada. Agnes and Catherine at Villa Property Management are fantastic. We had no major problems during our visit, but anytime something came up, they responded immediately. They were also a great resource for any questions we had regarding Nosara or Costa Rica in general. The rest of the staff that maintains the property are all very nice and helpful. All three bedrooms are comfortable and air conditioned. The outdoor living room is great. There are some mosquitos and plenty of other bugs, but you're in a tropical rain forest, so it's to be expected. The mosquitos aren't too bad. We found that using herbal mosquito spray and some candles kept them from being a problem. The other bugs and creatures are fascinating. At this house we saw frogs, coati, crabs, howler monkeys, etc. Really great combination of jungle life and beach life. The pool is perfect. Especially with small kids. Not too big, but big enough to swim and have fun. The kitchen is as well stocked as you would expect from a rental home. It would be nice to have some sharper knives and better pans, etc., but actually in pretty good shape considering it's a rental house. There is a jungle path to the beach, but it was too muddy and overgrown to use during our stay. Without using the path you can walk to Playa Pelada in 10-15 minutes on the road. Or a 3 minute drive to Olga's or La Luna at Playa Pelada. We loved Playa Pelada. Guiones is a 10-15 minute drive or 25 minute walk. The roads in Nosara are pretty rough. Tons of potholes and unpaved. I would definitely recommend a 4x4. No matter where you go, it's really bumpy. We had no major problems for the month we were here. The house is great. Everything we hoped it would be. Highly recommended. We can't wait to go back.
The pictures on the site and description of the place do it justice. It's not one of those "looks better in the photos" places, it really is a great 3 bedroom with a pool and lovely shaded lounge area. pros: -pool has a super shallow end which is great for cooling your feet or kid wading. -close to the beach. there aren't really houses much closer in the area. There's a path at the end of the drive which is maybe 5 min walk. -don't hear any other houses. -monkeys hang out in the nearby trees. -Joe and Agnes are great. We were there x-mas week (super busy) and still they made an effort to quickly fix the few small things that went wrong (A/C went out and it was fixed the next day) cons: -it's a jungle, so there are ants. Big ants. -seriously, the one thing that would make this place GREAT is if the kitchen was stocked. The basic plates etc are there but there wasn't even salt and pepper when we got there. You gotta cook unless you want to drive the rutted dirt roads at night, so it'd be nice if the basics were there: spices, oils, cutting boards etc. Nothing a run to the super market doesn't fix but i know the oil and spices we left behind was cleaned out before the next guests arrived. -the beach at the end of the path is beautiful but not great for swimming (strong current). you gotta walk down the beach 5+ mins for better swimming.
This was a first for our family and I have to admit I was very nervous making the arrangements. I called the property manager and she answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable. This house was amazing! It had all the comforts of home and more. We loved having a pool all to ourselves. We went on day trips each day either hiking, birdwatching by boat or swimming in the ocean, oh and ziplining through the forest. This was a memorable vacation for our family and it was always so nice at the end of the day to come home to such a comfortable home.
our family of 4 (two teens)stayed here for 4 nights during the summer rainy season. The managers were very helpful in recommending restaurants, grocery stores and things to do. They even gathered a group of local high school boys to help push our rental car out of a muddy ravine! They're a very interesting couple who also run a local B & B. The property was very clean and everything worked. Someone came to clean the pool daily. We loved the decor and the pool. The furniture is fun and a bit funky. It was especially relaxing to hang out in the open air covered living area when it rained. At least once a day, a group of howler monkeys would come through-always entertaining. We enjoyed walking to the beach each day. The shortcut path through the jungle was too muddy, but even so the beach was only about a 10 or 15 minute walk away. There is a nice, but somewhat pricy restaurant close by and a nature reserve as well. The oliver ridley sea turtle tour was a memorable adventure. We liked being just a bit removed from the town, but if you want to be withing close walking distance to a lot of stores and restaurants, or right on the beach, this may not be for you. We enjoyed being just a little bit
This property is a beautiful home hidden away in the jungle. It is just off the main road, and about three to five minutes drive from Nosara. The property itself is well kept and beautifully manicured. Our stay was during the "wet season." We were not quite prepared for all of the beautiful "jungle loves" who came to visit us during that time, but the house is, keep in mind, in the jungle. Our children loved the house. We actually stayed home a couple evenings and cooked dinner while they swam in the pool. We spent afternoons at home lounging around after mornings filled with discovery. There is a path along the side of the property that goes through the jungle to the beach, but during the "green(incredibly rainy at night) season" it is muddy and impassable. It is easier to take the street. One actually may prefer to go to the beach in Nosara during the "Green Season" because the beach in front of the house gets a little murky from the storms. Be aware that during heavy storms there are some "plumbing issues" about. I'm not sure if it's the house or the area, but you'll swear you're living in a sewage dump...stinky. We just lit a couple candles, grinnde and beared it, and were thankful for the aircoditioning and the great seals on the windows that were keeping that nasty smell in, but the little creatures out!
very private not far from the beach we had monkeys in the trees right beside the house they dont bother you at all. igaunas by the pool also an armedello dropped by for a visit very nice spot i would recomend this to anyone looking for privacy sun from morning till night
