Walk to the pristine beach of Pelada in five minutes. Another ten-minute walk will get you to the beach of Guiones or to the mouth of the river Nosara. A grocery store and several restaurants are also within a ten-minute walk. Surfing, swimming, strolling on the beach, bird and nature watching, kayaking... all is just at your door step!!! The house can be rented along with Casa Tranquila located across the way, for a group of 6 to 10 persons.
My husband and I stayed at Green Fish from March 21st to March 26th. We were picked up at the local car rental agency by agnes, the property manager as we were returning our car and would not have had transportation to the house. Green Fish was spotless, charming , comfortable and provided a very relaxing few days. The house is not beachfront but is an easy 5 minute walk to the nearest beach, Playa Pelada. The beaches in the area were big, beautiful and rugged. We found tidal pools throughout the day to relax in. The beach at Playa Giones, a 25 minute walk was great for surfing and boogie boarding. At high tide the ocean in this area can be intimidating. Playa Giones is the nearest town to Green Fish. All in all, Green Fish provided us with a very relaxing, tranquilo experience. Of note, we highly recommend having a car during your stay at Green Fish due to the spreadout nature of Nosara area. Also, AC is crucial so when booking pay the extra money.
Four sun-seeking Canadians in search of warmth and relaxation spent four wonderful weeks in Costa Rica in January/February of 2012, most of it at Green Fish in Nosara. The house was perfect for our needs. It was clean and welcoming and the once a week housekeeping was all that we needed. We walked the beaches every day, Guiones was a favorite destination. A beverage and relaxing swim at the Tucan Restaurant was well worth the walk; a little bit further and fresh bread and pastries were available at the bakery. We shopped in Nosara for groceries and cooked most meals at the house (perfect), however we enjoyed pizza at nearby Pepperoni's Pizza and other occasional meals out. The guys went deep sea fishing twice and brought us back the catch so fresh tuna was on the menu. Fresh lobster bought from local fisherman was a superb meal. Sunset watching on the beach each night became a ritual and was a friendly get together of locals and tourists. We had a wonderful time. The Nosara area is off the beaten bath, so this home and area is not for partiers but it was perfect for us and the kind of vacation we wanted. A car or quad is needed to get to the supermarket at Nosara, and the road is dusty but the store is well equipped with all essentials. As summer is short in Canada, we Canadians like to spend as much time out of doors as possible, so the only suggestion for the house would be some lawn chairs or the like for the deck. Agnes from Villa Mango (property manager) was efficient and helpful with our check-in and check-out and with any questions or problems (none to mention). We would definitely recommend this house to vacationers such as us -- those who want beach walks, ocean swims, lovely sunsets, beautiful surroundings and quiet times. Great vacation!
Great house and a great value...short walk to Playa Pelada which is an awesome private beach. Home had everything you need to vacation as if you lived there and was very clean. Short drive to a great grocery store for all your supplies. Can't say enough about the prop managers agnes and Joe...they are very cool, friendly people...on top of all your needs...We would highly recommend Greenfish to anyone coming to the Nosara area in the near future...Thanks Rob
This house was PERFECT for our group of four adults, and could have comfortably lodged two more. The house is located in Playa Pelada, the more quiet of the two beach areas of Nosara. Playa Pelada does not have a consistent surf break, meaning that a 20 min walk south will be required if you wish to surf (easy with a shortboard, a bit tougher with a longboard). The house was immaculate! Plenty of towels, dishes, and cookware... we were even pleasantly surprised to find that the place had a COOLER (there are few things better than a couple of ice-cold Imperials and a Costa Rican sunset). We WILL be staying here again, without a doubt. Recommendations... Buy your groceries in the town of Nosara itself, rather than in Playa Pelada or Guiones- the prices are SIGNIFICANTLY lower. Many locals speak English, but this is a great place to bone-up on your Spanish. EAT AT PANCHOS... order the Guacamole... you can thank me later La Luna is perhaps one of the most romantic and delicious restaurants in town... great setting for a little one on one
