TThe main house has two bedrooms and a casita next to it sleeps four. One bedroom has a king bed and the bathroom, one of the rare one in Nosara with a bathtub, is within the bedroom, with privacy screen on the toilet. The second bedroom has a full-size bed with separate bathroom. Both bedrooms in the main house have a/c and are separated by the kitchen and living room. A short flight of stair takes you to the second bathroom.
The Casita has a set of bunk bed and two twin beds that can be set into a king. There is a private bathroom with toilet and sink on one side and a shower on the other side, a table and chairs, as well as a small fridge and ceiling fans. Please note that the casita will not be rented separately from the main house, therefore you will not have to share the grounds with anyone else even if you only use the main house.
The pool and outdoor shower will welcome you upon your return from either location. For families with young children, please note that the pool has no fence. Most of the pool is only one step up, but the highest side is about 6-foot high and is only protected by plants and trees.
Other amenities included wireless internet, phone, security bars on windows, alarm and safe.
We stayed in "La Tortuga Feliz" last New Year's eve. The house is well equipped and nicely decorated. The house is also spacious and well distributed. The beach is not as closed as we wanted, but the walk to the beach is very enjoyable. I recommend the house. However, I do not recommend Nosara. We were disappointed to see how "americanized" Nosara is turning: restaurants have expensive prices in american dollars, menus are in English, waiters do not speak a word of Spanish and people have "attitudes". Foreigners should show more respect for the native Costa Rican culture.
My wife and I and our two young daughters (2 and 5) spent 10 days at Tortuga Feliz with our best friends and their young son. The property was perfect for our group and we loved the setting. The kids had a great time exploring the area and swimming in the pool. The moms took advantage of the treetop classes at the Yoga institute and the dads spent a lot of time at the beach surfing. By the end of the stay the kids were all surfing too as well as the moms. The property is close enough to everything at Playa guiones that we walked most places although we did rent bikes for the grocery store trips. The daily walks to the beach were a time for us to look for the howlers and iguanas that we often saw along the way. We cooked most of our meals in house so the kitchen got a real workout. The cooktop took time to get used to as it was very slow to heat up but we got the hang of it. During our stay, we all lost our watches or they stopped working so we sort of lost track of time. We really lost track when the power went out in the night and I had to meet a taxi at 6:30am to go fishing. Next time we will pack a travel alarm. All in all it was a wonderful way to escape the cold of Colorado and relax, relax relax!
